Je n'ai pas encore pu le tester mais il est très original. Il me parle beaucoup. Couleurs et style "mystique". Petit bémol, dommage qu'il ne soit pas en français!
This deck is something to behold at the very least. The imagery is awe-inspiring yet grounded, countering the vibrant, ethereal nature of the Thoth Tarot with a more subdued palette and realistic imagery. Like the Thoth Tarot, the imagery is very busy, and each card contains a wealth of information. Most striking, as many might agree, are the court cards, whose representatives come from Norse, Native American, Hindu, and Egyptian mythology, among others.Some words of opinion: This deck does not offer happy readings, and it tends to speak to the arbitrary yet transformative nature of suffering and grief. The Haindl Tarot would rather call you on your mortal insecurities than tell you whether or not your love for another is secretly requited. It is cutting, mysterious, and solemn. Do your homework before shuffling these cards.The deck itself is standard US Games Systems fare. The card stock is comfortable to handle and not overly-glossy, and the little white book is fine as little white books go.
I've only recently discovered this deck, and am now in the process of studying and working with it.I find that it keeps opening and deepening for me, and is now definitely a new favorite.What I love about it, so far, is the level of abstraction. Of course everyone feels differently about cards,and different people will bond with different decks. I'm finding that I get frustrated with the traditionaldecks that are very straight-forward in representation -- like the traditional decks, such as the Waite, butalso some of the more recent decks, like the one by the excellent Barbara Walker. She is such a font ofknowledge, and her books are essential, but her deck (for me anyway) is just too straight forward, relying on simpleone to one representation, too figural. With a deck like this, I feel a bit limited, as if I'm not being given enough "wiggleroom," something like that. I don't mean that I want to invent my own interpretation of course, just that when theimages are so completely defined, it does control even your vocabulary to a certain extent.(I wonder if anyone even knows what I'm talking about!) So the Haindl deck is very exciting for me. It feels full of energy becauseof the level of abstraction -- these cards do not pin down the meaning so much as "set it free," that's howit feels to me. They open themselves to your interpretation, because the images are so fluid -- it's morethan possible to see a whole range of different things in these cards, to let interpretations shift accordingto the context of different spreads, and therefore to form a very personal and intimateand also evolving relationship with them. I am very happy to have found them, and look forward to learningmore about them. In some decks I find the art too simplistic, also (will have to plead guilty to being a slight"art snob"), whereas in this deck it is quite sophisticated, abstract, and intriguing. It just feels alive to me.
Major disappointment - the cards do not, in any way whatsoever, evoke the quality/feeling/ they were designed to represent. As for the artwork itself - less than mediocre, but the real issue, once again, they do not inspire the truth behind the card meanings. imho, think whatever you want - but see a deck before purchasing. I sure will form now on
This deck is perfect for someone interested in a cross between the traditional RW and Aleister Crowley's Thoth. The Majors are more RW, while the Minors have a pip Thoth influence. The art is all beautiful, though the backs are non-reversible.The cardstock is thin and bends v e r y easily. Keeping the deck in its sturdy little box is the best idea when you're not using it.The LWB it comes with is lovely, giving simple divinatory meanings (upright and reversed) along with an insightful look at the art in every card.I love this deck so much. I can't recommend it enough to a reader looking for something different.
These cards are both beautiful and sturdy. I’ve had my deck for almost 8 years now and they are still in amazing condition. Colors are still there, no peeling, and after being shuffled hundreds of times there’s no major wear and tear.
